Eating disorders are devastating diseases for those who suffer from them. They do not suffer alone, however. Parents, siblings, loved ones, friends and other family members also struggle when someone they care deeply about is affected by an eating disorder. They experience concern, sadness and even anger about the self-destructive path that they are watching this person take- and worst of all they feel helpless to stop the eating disorder from destroying someone they love. When a family finds itself in this situation, the best thing they can do is learn as much as they can about the eating disorder and present the person with an opportunity to get help. Help may come in the form of therapy or even time spent in an inpatient facility where they can receive the treatment that they need.

There is no easy answer as to what causes eating disorders. It is often a complex series of events or beliefs adopted by a person that are clearly not to their highest good. For some, the media assault of what beauty is can have a catastrophic effect. The media presents images of people who spend many hours a week, not to mention thousands of dollars, creating an image that is actually achievable by a small percent of the population. What starts as an effort to achieve this look can spiral into an obsession driven by body hatred and other negative emotions. Anorexia, bulimia and binge eating are almost always accompanied by emotional issues.

Control is often a driving issue. With anorexia you often find individuals obsessed with their ability to control certain aspects of their lives which usually plays out in strict or excessive control over their diet. In bulimia and binge eating you are far more likely to find that control is an issue, only it\’s often the inability to control one\’s eating that becomes the problem. Many times people experience emotional eating in which they find themselves consuming large quantities of food in order to eat away their emotions rather than dealing with them. This can also be present in terms of one\’s ability to tell the difference between physical hunger and emotional hunger. It is through treatment that the difference is learned. Knowing how to eat when your body is hungry and stop when the body is full- not stuffed- but sated and full, can be a long journey with a very large emotional component.

A cataract is an opacity that develops in the crystalline lens of the eye or in its envelope. Early on in the development of age-related cataract the power of the crystalline lens may be increased, causing near-sightedness (myopia), and the gradual yellowing and opacification of the lens may reduce the perception of blue colours. Protein arranges itself to allow light rays to pass through and to focus the rays onto the retina. Other symptoms include faded colors, poor night vision, difficulty in reading, problem with bright light etc. Clouded vision can make it more difficult to read, drive a car especially at night or see the expression on a friend\’s face. In fact, they are the leading cause of visual loss among adults 55 and older. Eye injuries, certain medications, and diseases such as diabetes and alcoholism have also been known to cause cataracts.

In the early stages, stronger lighting and eyeglasses can help you deal with the vision problems. But at some point, if impaired vision jeopardizes your normal lifestyle, you might need surgery. Fortunately, cataract removal is one of the safest, most effective and most common surgical procedures.

Causes of Cataract

Most people develop some lens clouding after age 60 years. About 50% of Americans aged 65-74 years have cataracts, as do about 70% of those 75 years or older. Most people develop the problem in both eyes, although clouding in one eye may be worse than in the other eye. Many people do not know they have cataracts. Congenital cataracts can also be caused by infections affecting the mother during pregnancy, such as rubella. They are also associated with metabolic disorders such as galactosemia. Risk factors include inherited metabolic diseases, a family history of cataracts, and maternal viral infection during pregnancy.

Symptoms of Cataract

# Cloudy, fuzzy, foggy, or filmy vision

# Loss of color intensity

# Frequent changes in eyeglass prescription

# The glare from bright lights causes vision problems at night, especially while driving

# Sensitivity to glare from lamps or the sun

Treatment of Cataract

For an early cataract, vision may improve by using different eyeglasses, magnifying lenses, or stronger lighting. If these measures don\’t help, surgery is the only effective treatment. This treatment involves removing the cloudy lens and replacing it with a substitute lens.

Cataract surgery is very successful in restoring vision. In fact, it is the most frequently performed surgery in the United States, with over 1.5 million cataract surgeries done each year. Nine out of 10 people who have cataract surgery regain very good vision, somewhere between 20/20 and 20/40.

It is the principal ingredient in Vizu-All Plus and has to play important role in the treatment of eye disorders.

Prevention

Although cataracts have no scientifically proven prevention, it is sometimes said that wearing ultraviolet-protecting sunglasses may slow the development of cataracts. Regular intake of antioxidants (such as vitamin C and E) is theoretically helpful, but this has not been proven.

Bronchiolitis is inflammation of the bronchioles, the smallest air passages of the lungs. Bronchiolitis starts out with signs and symptoms similar to those of a common cold but then progresses to coughing and wheezing. However, in babies and toddlers whose bronchioles are smaller and easier to plug, these viruses often cause bronchiolitis when inhaled. The illness affects infants and young children most often because their small airways can become blocked more easily than those of older children or adults. Although it\’s often a mild illness, some infants are at risk for a more severe disease that requires hospitalization. Babies who attend day care are less likely to get bronchiolitis than those who stay home with a parent who smokes. Although a child\’s bout of bronchiolitis may be scary, particularly for parents, signs and symptoms typically last for about a week and then go away. In the meantime, you can take a number of self-help measures to make your child more comfortable.

Causes of Bronchiolitis

Bronchiolitis is caused by a virus – in the majority of cases one called the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).

Symptoms of Bronchiolitis

Your child will probably have a runny nose and a slight fever for 2 to 3 days. Then your child may begin to cough, breathe fast and wheeze (make a high-pitched whistling sound when breathing) for another 2 or 3 days.

Treatment of Bronchiolitis

If a baby is very distressed, and having trouble feeding, he may need to be admitted to hospital where he can be closely observed, given oxygen and sometimes fluid through a drip (intravenous therapy).

Often the illness is mild, and does not need any special treatment.

Intravenous (IV) fluids if your child is unable to drink well .

Bronchodilating drugs are often used but efficacy not proven. If there is no clinical response after one treatment, use should be stopped.

Home Treatment

The best treatment for most kids is time to recover and plenty of fluids. Making sure a child drinks enough fluids can be a tricky task, however, because infants with bronchiolitis may not feel like drinking. They should be offered fluids in small amounts at more frequent intervals than usual.

Prevention

Most cases of bronchiolitis are not readily preventable because the viruses that cause the disorder are common in the environment. Careful attention to hand washing, especially around infants, can aid in the prevention or spread of respiratory viruses.

Family members with an upper respiratory infection should be especially careful around infants. Wash hands frequently, especially before handling the child.

The human body is a magnificent machine that works in harmony with nature. The machinery needs proper care and sometimes parts replaced. Like the machine so the heart also needs help to prevent failure. The pump may not pump enough blood to meet your body\’s needs, which can lead into congestive heart failure. Many underlying conditions can cause congestive heart failure.

Over time and with the wear and tear of one\’s body the heart itself can develop such things as coronary artery disease or high blood pressure, which can lead to congestive heart failure. These things sap your strength leaving the heart with the inability to pump efficiently causing a break down. It is very important that you take care of yourself because these things while not reversible are preventable.

High blood pressure is a condition where the blood pressure is more than normal. It is also known as hypertension. Heart pumps out blood, so that oxygen can reach to different parts of the body via blood. The pressure with which heart pumps blood is known as blood pressure. The blood pressure comprises of two measures, the systolic pressure and diastolic pressure. Systolic pressure is the larger figure and represents the pressure within the artery of the heart, when contractions take place which pump blood to different parts of the body. Diastolic pressure is the pressure within the artery of the heart, when the blood is filling in the heart and it is at rest. Both the pressures are measured in millimeters of mercury or mmHg. High blood pressure is abnormal increase in systolic pressure or diastole pressure.

Blood pressure is measured by putting a blood pressure cuff on the arm and placing a stethoscope on the chest. There can be very little variation in blood pressure depending upon the time, emotional moods, age, gender, weight, height, physical activity, stress and other illness such as heart disease and kidney disease. Children and adolescents become anxious when they visit the doctor. This is also an important factor which affects the blood pressure and the readings taken get tampered because of it. That is the reason why many blood pressure readings are taken in order to determine whether the adolescent has high blood pressure or not. The nurse may even ask the adolescent to calm down while taken the readings. Time gap is given between each reading, so as to give time to the adolescent to calm down. Emotions can also affect the blood pressure reading.

An infant will have a normal blood pressure reading of 80/45, where as an adolescent will have a normal blood pressure reading of 110/70. Therefore, age, gender, and height are important factor when determining the normal blood pressure level. Adults will have a higher blood pressure than the infants and teenagers. Also, boys have a higher blood pressure when compared to girls and tall people have a higher blood pressure than short people. An adolescent is said to have high blood pressure when the blood pressure is more than the blood pressure of ninety percent people of his/her age, gender and height.

There are many risks associated with hypertension or high blood pressure. The risk of developing coronary heart disease increases proportionally. The arteries will develop greater resistance towards the blood flow, because of which the heart will pump blood harder. Stroke is also another risk. Adolescents who have had high blood pressure as a child, develop harmful effects on the blood vessels and heart till the time they turn twenty.

The causes of high blood pressure can be classified as primary and secondary. If the causes are definite, they are primary and if the cause is linked to some illness, it is secondary. Primary causes are high blood cholesterol levels, smoking, stagnant lifestyle and overweight. Secondary causes are obesity, immobility due to chronic illness, prescription drugs, intense pain due to burns or cancer and illegal drugs. High blood pressure can develop due to hereditary reasons.

Hypertension is diagnosed by blood test and urinalysis. The kidney function will also be checked, along with blood cholesterol levels. Family history check is another important factor. Adolescents\’ eating habits, exercise levels, activities in school and home will also be studied thoroughly. High blood pressure is dealt with by weight reduction, healthy diet, and increase in physical activity. If hypertension is due to illness, the illness is treated first. These treatment measures will decrease the systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure. It will also strengthen the heart and decrease the level of cholesterol in blood. This also helps to keep heart diseases at bay. The good thing is that only one percent of the adolescents, who have high blood pressure, need medication to bring back the blood pressure to normal.

According to experts in aging and heart disease is rising higher these days than ever. The aging progression alone slowly builds up through impulsive changes of the body and mind. The maturity phase carries on starting at childhood as the person works through puberty, teenage and so on. At this time the body and minds starts to decline. As the person reaches mid-age or moves into advanced aging, the person starts to decline its natural physical functions.

Aging alone starts as we are born and carries throughout our life. Through the process, the body has positive reflections on our bodily components and development, yet as we age negative effects take fold, which include the declining phase.

According to experts in medicine, no one can determine when our body becomes aged. At one time people 65 and older where considered the aged, yet today people are working further on than 65 years of age. In short, people are working in the 70s, 80s and even 90 years of age today, which returned a different view on the aged.

Support is essential. If you have support, you will have friends and family members who will open their minds to your feelings. You should never allow your feelings to linger in your own mind without expressing what you feel. Express your feelings to people you trust. Take time to listen to them and let these people know what you need. For instance, if you just need a friendly ear, then let them know. Holding back emotions leads to soaring complications. Strict changes in diet and lifestyle can not only prevent heart attacks, but can reverse the clogging of the arteries, according to a small but pioneering study. The study showed that a vegetarian diet, moderate exercise and an hour a day of yoga and meditation could produce a reversal of atherosclerosis, a blockage of the arteries that can lead to a heart attack, in men and women who were strict in following the daily regimen.

Experts say this is the first study to report that such blockage can be reversed without using cholesterol-lowering drugs or surgery.

The study, which was conducted by Dr. Dean Ornish, director of the Preventive Medicine Research Institute in Sausalito, Calif., was presented at the meeting of the American Heart Association in New Orleans.

This is a tremendously important study in the control of heart disease. It\’s the very first study indicating regression of coronary heart disease without pharmaceutical intervention. The results also suggest that the current medical guidelines for changes in the habits of people with severe heart disease do not go far enough.

Previous studies have shown that exercise and diet changes can slow the progression of heart disease, but not reverse it.

While the study did not determine what percentage of improvement could be attributed to the lifestyle changes alone, the researchers noted that stress-control methods have been shown to ease recovery from a variety of disorders, including hypertension.

But some experts are skeptical of the need for stress-management methods, which are not currently among standard recommendations for those with severe heart disease.

Some experts on cardiac rehabilitation question whether most people with heart disease could follow such strict changes in their habits.

Many Americans live with high blood pressure everyday, yet they continue to practice unhealthy lifestyles. Because the signs and symptoms of the cardiovascular disease go undetected for so long, other cardiovascular complications develop unexpectedly.

Once detected by medical professionals, they are obligated to treat the condition with medications to control its progression and lower the current levels.Consequently, if your blood pressure levels are severely elevated, you may be diagnosed with malignant hypertension.

Hypertension is known to cause many complications if not treated properly. The more common medical conditions include heart failure or stroke. However, when the blood pressure levels are extremely elevated, you may experience hypertension that will be characterized as malignant.

At this point, the patient will experience extensive vital organ damage. More so, the complications of hypertension are accompanied by papilledema. The damage is prominent in the eyes, brain, lung and/or kidneys.

Although very uncommon, malignant hypertension causes all the major organ system to be at risk. For instance, you may experience internal bleeding of the retinas, in both eyes, as well as swelling of the optic nerves behind the retinas. The other major organs are also especially sensitive to elevated blood pressure levels causing permanent damage.

The small blood vessels rupture as a result of high systolic and diastolic levels, which are generally greater than 240 and 120, respectively. This is a direct diagnostic criterion that characterizes untreated malignant hypertension.

To date, researchers continue to determine the exact causes for development of this type of hypertension. Ideally, there are several key factors noted by medical experts that identify individuals that are more at risk. An important key to this type of hypertension is the age factor.

Contrary to the particular age profile of the essential hypertension, younger patients are more at risk to develop malignant hypertension. Furthermore, individuals of African heritage are more at risk. Other factors include a history of kidney failure or renal artery stenosis and pregnant women with gestational hypertension or pregnant women that experience certain other pregnant related complications.

Malignant Hypertension is known to cause extreme organ damage and possibly, death. If you are diagnosed with this disease, it is necessary that you are admitted to the hospital for immediate treatment. This type of hypertension is also managed with specific medications to reduce the elevated blood pressure. These medications include nitropruside and nitroglycerin.

When taking these drugs, you will also be required to endure a number of blood test to asses the status of the vital organs. Again, it is extremely important that this disease is detected, diagnosed and subsequently treated immediately. In most cases, if this process is implemented, the prognosis for malignant hypertension is promising.

After water it is said that drinking green tea from 100% tea leaves is good because it can give you health benefits. Tea originates from the leaves of Camellia sinensis — a white-flowered evergreen. About 500 species of tea exist, divided into about 50 different countries, with China leading all nations in abundance… but the highest quality teas come from Japan. There are a lot of classifications of tea and it varies on how it is processed. After plucking the tea leaves it began to oxidize that gives it distinctive color like Green, black and oolong tea. And for green tea, leaves are steamed, roasted, or pan-fried almost immediately, leaving little chance for them to ferment. As a result, most green teas tend to be lighter in color. And there are researches that show Green tea helps protects against heart disease because of the compounds on green tea which is the flavonoids. It also prevents other diseases like high blood, Alzheimer’s disease and prostate cance r. It also said that not all green tea is healthy. This is because of the fact that many green teas are oxidized wherein in the process health compounds are taken away. And that is why Dr. Joseph Mercola – Natural Health practitioner recommends Royal Matcha Green Tea. It is the purest Matcha Green Tea without the harmful toxins. For more
